Geothermal Anywhere provides the PLASMABIT technology for implementation of deep geothermal drilling approximately 8 to 10 km deep, which would open the way to exploring vast energy reserves. In such depths, the rock temperature reaches 200°C to 400°C practically all over the world. Imagine a 14-km long, 14-km wide and 1-km thick slice of rock below the ground surface with temperature of 250°C when cooled down to 50°C by water circulating through power plant turbines. This quantity of thermal energy is equivalent to the total energy consumed annually in the United States.
Deep geothermal energy is available anywhere, there are no emissions (CO2), and is scalable according to local needs. These realistic estimates are based on both theoretical and practical results as well as on measurement of temperature gradients. The main obstacle in using these vast energy reserves is in today's drilling technologies where after the 3rd km of drilling there is an exponentially rising cost of drilling per each kilometer.
